A CIPP patch repair is a short length of Cure In Place Pipe (CIPP) liner, used to repair isolated defects within longer pipe lengths.
We at the McAllister group offer patch repairs of two varieties. Using the traditional ambient cured method, or the faster UV Cured method. UV CIPP patches have a curing time of around 10 minutes.
CIPP patches involve essentially the same product and process as CIPP lining, but on a smaller scale. A short sleeve is typically prepared on-site using silicate resin. The appropriate preparations are made according to the type of patch being used. We aim for full structural repair bonding to the existing pipe, even in wet conditions.
This technique is used as it offers a range of benefits;
- Highly resistant to chemicals and abrasion
- Hard surface finish gives improved flow characteristics
- Tapered edges give a smooth flow transition
